I put the TEA in teaching.

I've been working in education for over ten years.

Before my mom retired, she was a high school teacher for 30 years.

My grandmother was a kindergarten teacher.

Two of my aunts recently retired from teaching.

Even my brother is a teacher!

Education (public education) runs in my family, and I have thoughts on it. A lot of thoughts.

I sprinkle anecdotes of wisdom along with questions I have yet to answer throughout my work because I think education and the way it's applied in our world is a travesty, yet education is the only thing I can think of that will begin to build a functioning, more peacful society.

No amount of post graduate training can prepare a person for a career in teaching-be it a traditional teacher, homeschool teacher, or parent of a student...especially a student who doesn't learn in a standard way.

For many kids, school can feel like an open wound that's left untreated and continues to bleed. My goal, my why, is to change that. Even if I can change it for one person, I will have accomplished something worthy.

On a brighter note, for many kids, school can also be life saving (literally) and tremendously fulfilling. I want to savor those experiences and work to discover how to create more positive connections between students and schools.

I'm here to help guide, but also to listen because I know I don't have all the answers.

Also, I'm here to spill the education tea!
